In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2:8-11 (NRS)

Today, we had the opportunity to stand on the very hill where the shepherds stood when the star of Bethlehem and the angel from heaven appeared to them, announcing the Savior, Jesus. To imagine their experience, in the very place it happened was amazing! Seeing Bethlehem from a distance, as they would have, and knowing that there, the Messiah had arrived had to be awe inspiring!

The Daily Verse will be traveling to Israel over the next two weeks and we’ll be documenting our travels and discoveries on our Facebook Page, Instagram and Twitter! We welcome you to join in on the adventure!
