But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
Psalm 19:12,13 (NIV)

Ask that God would show you when you’re stepping in error, whether that be because of ignorance, ego or other. Ask God for the power over willful sins that they may not rule over you.

The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.
Isaiah 50:4

Listen and seek the heart of God concerning the people around you. Be sensitive to what He shows you, and be willing to offer that word in due season to those who are weary.

But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!’”
2 Kings 5:13 (NLT)

In this story of Naaman and the prophet, Elisha, Naaman was offended that the prophet didn’t give him some bizarre showing of the healing power of God. So offended that he almost missed out on being healed. Thankfully his servants reasoned with him saying that God may still move through common simplicity. Let us not be surprised when all God needs is our obedience to move in our lives.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)

God’s Word is not dormant, settled into type on paper. It is alive, living and powerful. Let this perspective lift the truths you’ve read into reality inside your heart and mind. Trust that His Word is more than an ancient work of literature but rather a living, breathing companion of truth, constantly in motion, exposing our innermost thoughts and desires, offering mercy, forgiveness and guidance.

“nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:39 (ESV)

Though it may not feel like the truth, it is true. God and His love for us can not be taken away, separated or hindered.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
Psalms 139:23-24 (ESV)

May we be so humble and open to God pointing out any grievous ways in us, and lean into His wisdom and grace to course correct.
