You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.
Psalm 89:9
We serve a God Who can still the raging seas of our lives. When everything around you seems to be in utter chaos, be reminded of His faithfulness and sovereignty.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
Psalm 34:19
Do not be surprised when life brings uphill battles; they’re going to happen. At the same time, expect God to be faithful.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7,8
Live like you believe this.
The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand.
Psalm 37:23,24
This passage is a good reminder that we may fall, but we’re not destined to lie there prostrate and wallow in our suffering; we’re going to be upheld by the hand of the Lord. So when you’re down, learn from being there, then look up. Receive God’s hand, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and move on knowing that God is before you and behind you.
The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.
Psalm 145:14
Let this truth soak in and may it bring you comfort and peace.
For before certain men came from James, he [Cephas] was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.
Galatians 2:12
Cephas was worried about what his peers would have thought of him if he were to continue spending time with and ministering to the Gentiles, so much that he changed his behavior and left the very place where God has placed him to minister. Let us not be moved by fear of what others think, rather let us remain confident and stand firm in what God has uniquely, fearfully and wonderfully made us to be.
As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
1 Corinthians 12:20
You were designed uniquely, by God, to be exactly “you.” Be confident in your place and purpose, knowing that you are an essential part of the whole. Don’t worry about what you’re not – focus on being the best at who and what you are.
…for we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
If what you can see doesn’t immediately bring to mind God’s provision and presence, be reminded of this passage.
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matthew 7:24
In everything from relationships to career to ministry – every facet of our daily lives – let us be like the wise man and build our houses on a firm foundation.
