So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16 (ESV)

Getting older is hard. Whether you’re young and graduating high school or if you’re in your more seasoned years, finding your body isn’t as resilient as it used to be. Be encouraged and embrace that your inner self is being renewed day by day.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
1 Peter 5:9 (ESV)

Knowing that others are enduring suffering similar to what we are can often times provide the strength and courage to stand firm in our faith. Let us be encouraged by one another and pray for one another.

The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds and rushes will flourish where desert jackals once lived.
Isaiah 35:7 (NLT)

Parched ground can sometimes be an accurate description of our hearts. God will renew your heart, create a pool where there has been a desert and cause new growth where none seemed possible.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”
Ephesians 6:1-3 (ESV)

It’s not just good for Mom and Dad for kids to obey, it’s ultimately good for the kids, too! Stay encouraged as you lead your kids in the way they should go. The hard work is worth it!

Then the LORD will provide shade for Mount Zion and all who assemble there. He will provide a canopy of cloud during the day and smoke and flaming fire at night, covering the glorious land. It will be a shelter from daytime heat and a hiding place from storms and rain.
Isaiah 4:5,6 (NLT)

This same covering is over you.

You know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:3,4 (NIV)

Letting perseverance finish its work isn’t comfortable. Hang in there. What that work develops is well worth the outcome.

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6 (ESV)

Look at the steps you’re taking toward healthiness, balance and refining your character. Don’t forget that through His strength and provision, He who began His good work in you IS going to see it to completion.
